Croquetas

 

Ingredients: 

 

1/8 cup white flour

1 glass of milk

2 tablespoons of butter

1 egg yolk

Parmesan or Roman grated cheese

1 egg

bread crumbs

salt

Filling: ham or Spanish ham or roasted chicken or veggies or tuna.....

 

 

Chop the desired filling in tiny pieces and keep them apart.

Put the butter in a pan, and heat it until it is melted. Add the flour and fry it until it becomes golden. Then slowly, start pouring the milk, a little bit at a time, stir, get a paste, a little bit more... and don't stop stirring, to get a compact paste. Once poured all the milk, keep stirring and cooking for 12 minutes. Then, turn the fire off, and add salt, the egg yolk, the filling, and the cheese. 2 big tablespoons of cheese would be enough. Mix all together and let it cool.

Once cooled, make small balls, shaped like a bullet, put them on the batted egg and roll them on the bread crumbs.

Fry them in hot oil or deep fried.

Very suitable to be frozen.
